Thanks to everyone who came out to make this event super fun and successful! And if you missed it, there's MORE! The Saturday Artist Market is ongoing throughout the summer. I listed all the dates I'll be attending in the WHERE TO BUY tab up top.
Hello all, especially anyone new stopping here after visiting today's S.A.M. Citybration event! I hope you thought the event was as much fun as I did! A bunch of monsters found new homes and the weather was perfect! The monsters even found some airtime tonight on Channel 4 News as some "local treasures of a different kind." How exciting is that!? I've never actually been on TV, but today I managed to stumble through a brief interview while shaking like a leaf. Here's some screenshots and the whole video can be found HERE. See? The monsters just want to make you smile. Let's all be happy for a little while.

Here are two custom orders I just finished... They look like a mommy and baby pair. Wouldn't this be a perfect gift for Mother's Day?
This guy is pretty popular. Not only did he sell at Mayday this past weekend, but now I'm making his twin and "mini me" yeti ornament version. I'm going to try to get some stuff listed on my etsy shop this week and Friday I am bringing a bunch of new monsters to Thin Ice in Buffalo!
Here is me with my table! My table set up is always a work in progress. Don't forget, I'm always willing to make a custom, extra special monster for you! All you have to do is ask!
Also, I have a few shows coming up at the end of the month. Here's some information and the rest of the details are under the WHERE TO BUY tab up top. Hi everyone. I'm sorry for the lack of updates on here. For those who know me personally, you already understand. For those who don't, I've been taking care of my health and had to push a lot of art projects to the back burner for the last 3 weeks. I don't really want to get into it, but it's crazy how quickly life can change. Don't ever take it for granted. I did manage to draw a few new greeting cards which I've sent off to get printed at moo.com. Here is a preview of the designs. Enjoy. Hopefully they'll ship out soon. :) I'm still planning to be at the Clarence Presbyterian "Gotta Have Art" Festival next weekend. Hope to see you there if you live in the Buffalo area. More information on my WHERE TO BUY page.
I don't have much to say about this one... just another drawing of my favorite little person, Annie! Here's the other drawing from last summer in case you missed it.
So, it's 2012? How did that happen? In case you missed it, I put some new monsters up in my etsy shop. Meet them here. If you click the picture it should link you to where you can buy them. Every monster deserves a good home! Merry Christmas everyone :)
Here's the latest custom order! A monster walrus! I was super excited to make this guy... and he's so hilarious looking! Enjoy! I also finished a monstapus today. The walrus monster and monstapus became friends quite quickly!
Well, hi! That was one crazy weekend! Erinmakesstuff managed to be in two places at once! Let me start off with a huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to support the UUCB Holiday Show in Buffalo and the Indie Garage Sale in Utica. SO MANY monsters found homes. There is hardly anything left in the bin! I would definitely do both shows again... but hopefully they don't happen on the same day next year! That was a wee bit STRESSFUL! Sitting at these shows reminds me why I make these guys. Sometimes when I'm working I think, "What am I doing?!" Knitting is super time consuming and I'm probably crazy for picking that technique. But watching the "journey of emotions" on customers faces is priceless. [My friend Allison said that yesterday and I liked it.] It's rare for someone to not crack a smile, even if at first glance they seem puzzled. And that's all these monsters need to do: make you smile. Cheer you up. Laugh. Enjoy. They are as warm and cozy as your favorite sweater and each has a personality all their own. What more do you need? [See that possum scarf? It found a home too! As did the big monstapus. Many customers returned Sunday to get even more monsters!] To sweeten what was already an awesome weekend, I learned something else! The Utica O-D newspaper used pictures of my monsters with their article to advertise the Indie Garage Sale! On Saturday customers were passing by and kept commenting that they saw my stuff in the paper... and I had no idea what they were talking about. Fortunately my friend [and wonderful host! Thanks again Susan!] was able to dig through her parents recycle bin Sunday morning and find me a copy! Monsters were pictured on BOTH the cover and inside the Thursday weekend section! How cool is that! Pictured in the paper in two cities for two different shows within two months! [And both times I had no idea!] At least this time I managed to get a copy of the paper! To end this post, THANK YOU to the wonderful people at the UUCB in Buffalo. I'm sad I couldn't be there in person this time. Everyone who went said it was fantastic so congrats on a job well done!

Erinmakesstuff monsters will also be available DECEMBER 10 in Buffalo, NY at the Annual UUCB Holiday Show. Details about that show here! I'm excited!!! Here are fun things that people have ordered from my etsy store! [And you can order these things too! Links are below the picture.] I also do custom orders so if you can dream it, I can probably make it. Looks like this week I may be making a walrus monster! I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together. Anyway... Fox Scarf [also available: Possum Scarf] Monster Face Hat
Just to let you know, I probably won't be adding any already made monsters on etsy for awhile. I'm trying to stock up on monsters and monster ornaments for the shows the weekend of Dec. 10th. So if you need stuff, find me! I'll be in Buffalo and Utica. And, as always, my stuff can be found at Thin Ice on Elmwood [Buffalo] and Arena's on East Ave. [Rochester]. Check the "WHERE TO BUY" tab up top for more info! Custom orders are also welcome. Email me for more info! I'm a few days late [I've been busy!] but I wanted to say thank you to everyone who came to support erinmakesstuff at Buffalo Women's Gifts this past weekend. It was an AWESOME show. I loved it last year and was excited to be accepted back. This year was even better than last. So many monsters found homes and I pretty much sold out of ornaments! Here are some pictures of what was there. There are two shows left this season: The annual UUCB Holiday Show in Buffalo, NY on Dec. 10 and the Indie Garage Sale in Utica, NY Dec. 10-11. I need to get knitting!
I've had the idea of little knitted woodland animals in my head for awhile now and finally decided to make one! I think he turned out great... not completely fox-like, but cute nonetheless. Annie and I even had a fun little excursion to the beach to find the driftwood. She pointed out all the sticks. She likes sticks, I guess. I don't think I'll be stocking this type of item for shows this season, but I'd love to make more as custom orders! I really want to try making a skunk... what do you all think?
